Our way of working

Our way of working

It begins with a meeting

The first meeting with you is where it all starts. We discuss thoroughly all your wishes, expectations, and demands.  The first ideas are born in this meeting.   We develop these ideas into a plan.

Often there is an official organ consultant involved in a project.   We have, of course, regular contact with your consultant.

The quotation

The next step is research into the type of instrument, the builder, etc.  Often we travel to see and listen to other instruments.  We have to think the whole process through in order to make a complete and detailed quotation.  It doesn’t matter whether it’s a new organ or a restoration.

Firm price

Our quotations usually have a firm price, so there won’t be any unpleasant surprises later.

Down to work

After your acceptance of the quotation we get down to work on the project.  Is it a restoration?  Then we take the organ partly or completely to our workshop.  Here we restore all the parts.  Then we bring the organ back to its original place.  If it’s a new organ, we make all the parts in our own workshop.  Then we build the organ up in the church or hall.

You are always welcome to follow our steps, for example by making a visit to our workshop.

Delivery

When the organ is finished or the restoration completed, we provide you with a detailed report on the whole project.  This includes all relevant scales and dimensions.  We also explain our reasons for various choices made during the building process.

Here is a sample of a restoration report (pdf)
