Inspired by Hans Mehmling’s painting, we were asked to create a portative inspired by it for a private person.

It had to be an “alto” instrument with a compass of g-a”.

The case is made of cypress, the windchest of western red cedar and the pipes of 80% tin. The material is hammered. The instrument is tuned in meantone, the pitch is 440Hz. The ornaments are inlaid.
